Grace is a dedicated physical therapist with a strong focus on helping fitness athletes and individuals committed to maintaining an active lifestyle. With extensive experience in rehabilitating sports injuries and enhancing overall physical performance, Grace provides advanced techniques and personalized treatment plans to optimize recovery and prevent future injuries.

Grace earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy  from The University of Kansas Medical Center. In addition to a comprehensive clinical background, Grace has worked with athletes from a variety of sports, providing tailored rehabilitation programs that address both acute injuries and chronic conditions, while helping athletes return to their peak performance levels.

Grace also specializes in pelvic health, with a particular emphasis on supporting women through pregnancy and the postpartum period. She offers care for pelvic floor dysfunction, prenatal preparation, and postpartum recovery. Grace is an ICE-trained clinician, dedicated to empowering her patients to return to the activities they love with confidence and strength.

Having a personal interest in fitness, Grace has a passion for treating orthopedics, CrossFit athletes and weightlifters, endurance athletes, winter sports and other extreme sport athletes. Outside of the clinic, Grace is passionate about staying active. She enjoys a diverse range of sports, including CrossFit, running, road cycling, mountain biking, snowboarding, and hiking. Grace is joined by her fiancé, Bryan and Aussie pup, Camp for all adventures.

Dr. Jacob Gunn is a licensed physical therapist at Onward Physical Therapy in Kansas City, where he specializes in helping golfers and strength and powerlifting athletes move better, perform stronger, and stay pain-free. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Rockhurst University and has dedicated his career to helping active individuals reach their performance goals through evidence-based, individualized care.

Jacob is Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified and certified in dry needling, combining his expertise in golf-specific movement with advanced manual therapy and exercise techniques. He’s passionate about helping dedicated athletes—whether in the weight room or on the golf course—unlock their best performance. Whether he’s helping a golfer fine-tune their swing mechanics or guiding a powerlifter through a shoulder or hip rehab program, Jacob focuses on improving movement quality, strength, and resilience.

Driven by a passion for performance and longevity, Jacob is committed to helping people get back to doing what they love—training, competing, and living an active, pain-free lifestyle. His goal is simple: to help you move with confidence, perform at your best, and keep doing it for years to come.

Joe is a locally grown clinician who is relentless in his pursuit of expert level care and hospitable service. Joe was born and raised, right here in Kansas City. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology at Northwest Missouri State University and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University.

Joe is clinically trained in cutting-edge manual therapy techniques and progressive exercise. Joe utilizes a fitness-forward approach to help guide others to rediscover the freedom of movement. Joe is here for the everyday athlete, someone who is just starting their health journey, or someone who has fallen off.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll find Joe working on his fitness or coaching others on how to do the same, reading a new book, or enjoying a local coffee shop with his wife.

Dr. Matthew Sullivan is a physical therapist and CrossFit Level 1 trainer located in Prairie Village, KS. He completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Regis University in Denver, Colorado where he received the clinical excellence award upon graduation. He completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Kinesiology with a special focus on training adaptations from Kansas State University. After completing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Regis University, he completed Evidence In Motion’s Orthopedic Residency Program and continued mentoring other residents around the country develop through the same program.

Matthew is an expert clinician, problem solver and highly sought after physical therapist recognized as a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics and has extensive training in Clinical Management of the Fitness Athlete, Orthopedics, Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction and CrossFit. His background brings a seamless approach of both hands-on manual therapy techniques including manipulation and dry needling along with exercise programming to helping you decrease pain quickly or properly manage injuries to maximize your goals and overall health. He has a passion for treating spinal pain and orthopedics for weightlifters and runners empowering patients with long-term solutions to their health and wellness problems.

In addition to owning and operating Onward Kansas City, Matthew owns and operates remotely his team at his other highly sought after performance physical therapy practice, Pure Movement located in Santa Fe, NM where he resided with his wife and their son for several years before recently moving back to Kansas City to be closer to family. Outside of the clinic, you can find Matthew at a local CrossFit box working on improving his fitness and weightlifting, running around the streets or trails, spending time with his wife Dallas and their son Gentry, walking their standard poodle or exploring their new home Kansas City.
